Christ Church Great Broughton

Welcome to Christ Church in Great Broughton, an active church at the heart of the community. We are a church of hardworking committed and welcoming lay people most of whom take an active part both in services and the upkeep of the church.  We are connecting with young people through our Youth Cafe and cafe style services and aim to spread the Christian faith in our villages and to make everyone feel welcome in the church.

When the Covid-19 restrictions allow us to we hope to restart a morning spoken service in Church. Please check the weekly Staying Connected Newsletter on the Grasmoor Mission Community website for further details.

Visit our Staying Connected page to find out how we are connecting across the Grasmoor Mission Community of churches.

Christ Church was built in 1856 from local stone between the villages of Little Broughton and Great Broughton. It is a simple design with a nave and chancel on the same level and a sanctuary only one step higher. The church has been lovingly restored. It has been re-roofed and had new ceiling panels fitted between the beams. A new electrical and lighting system have been installed. The church has also been re-decorated.

Community Space

In 2015 a new community space was created at the back of the church, with toilets (including disabled and baby-changing facilities) and a small kitchen.

This community facility is available for hire: contact 01900 825434.

A selection of books is available for borrowing.
